Arts Commission announces banner painters

The Laguna Beach Arts Commission has selected four artists to paint banners for display throughout the city during the summer.

Commissioners reviewed 23 submissions and announced the winners at Monday’s meeting.

Al Esquerra, Robin Hiers, Michael Phillips and Jeffrey Skarvan will paint their original work on banners measuring 4 feet by 16 feet.

The annual competition is for Orange County artists only. It is funded by Laguna’s lodging establishments and the city.
