Seasonal planting workshop Saturday

The South Laguna Community Garden Park will host a free seasonal planting workshop Saturday.

Lauren Fieberg, who installs gardens with Transition Laguna Beach and teaches environmental science at Sage Hill School in Newport Beach, will discuss which crops are climate-appropriate for area gardens and also provide maintenance tips. Transition Laguna Beach is a grassroots organization that promotes edible gardens.

The public will have an opportunity to ask questions during the one-hour workshop, which will begin at 10 a.m. The garden park is located at Eagle Rock Way and Coast Highway in South Laguna.
