Chamber to host labor-law workshop
Local business owners, managers and professionals can learn about employment pitfalls during a labor-law workshop March 12 hosted by the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Attorney Dawn Knepper, a labor and employment expert, will chair the discussion from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach branch at 1085 Laguna Canyon Road.
Key topics will include technicalities of the state’s new law regarding paid sick leave and changes to required notices under the Wage Theft Prevention Act.
Knepper advises and defends clients in federal and state employment-related lawsuits and agency claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations.
The cost of the workshop is $15 for chamber members and $25 for others. Registration is required and can be made at lagunabeachchamber.org by clicking on the “events” tab or by calling (949) 494-1018.
