Police ask motorists to slow on Del Mar

The Laguna Beach Police Department is asking drivers to reduce speeds along Del Mar Avenue, according to a news release.

The street is the principal means for the Arch Beach Heights neighborhood to connect to South Coast Highway and downtown Laguna Beach.

The residential street has a moderate grade from Balboa Avenue to La Mirada Street, so drivers are encouraged to pay attention to how fast they are going.

Traffic officers have been directed to increase enforcement on the road. Police remind motorists that citations not only mean fines but possibly increased insurance costs.
