Laguna to celebrate Sister Cities Garden next week

The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to recognize the Laguna Beach Sister Cities Garden in Heisler Park.

Laguna Nursery owner Ruben Flores and members of the Laguna Beach Garden Club have helped prepare the plot, which contains plants native to San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, St. Ives, England, and Menton, France — Laguna Beach’s sister cities — according to a news release.

Mayor Bob Whalen will cut the ribbon at 4 p.m., joined by dignitaries from the sister cities and members of the Laguna Beach Beautification Council.

The garden is near Jasmine Street and Cliff Drive.
