Laguna hires two new police officers

The city of Laguna Beach recently hired two new police officers, according to a news release.

Michele Maraj and Jordan Mirakian began work Jan. 12. They are assigned to the patrol division, Capt. Jason Kravetz wrote in an email.

Maraj was a police officer in Fairfax, Va..

Mirakian served as an officer for 15 years with the San Diego Community College District and San Diego State, including time as supervisor.

Maraj and Mirakian will undergo six months of field training while learning the community.
