The three men cited were from Oceanside, Long Beach and Huntington Beach. They were issued citations for assault and battery and released.

Traffic stop ends in drug arrest

A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and driving with a suspended license after he was stopped by police at 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at Legion and Glenneyre Streets, Callus said.

A DMV check of the vehicle showed it had expired tags but was carrying a 2011 sticker, she said.

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly found 1.84 grams of methamphetamine and a glass pipe. Daniel James Wallace, of Aguanga, was held on $20,000 bail.

Parking spot dispute leads to accusation of assault

A 60-year-old man was accused of assaulting a younger man in a dispute over a supermarket parking space, Callus said. The suspect was accused of slapping a 21-year-old man who was waiting for a spot at a market in the 30000 block of Coast Highway at 2:09 p.m. Sunday.

The victim told police the suspect cut him off and took the parking spot he was waiting for. The victim told police he cursed at the suspect, who approached and allegedly slapped the driver with his open hand. The suspect then walked into the store and was arrested after he came out with his groceries. The suspect was cited and released.
