A 17-year-old Santa Ana boy was arrested on suspicion of DUI and other charges after allegedly losing control of his vehicle and driving into the west guard shack at Irvine Cove on North Coast Highway at 1:16 a.m. Oct. 14, Sgt. Louis Callus said.
The driver and his 18-year-old female passenger were both allegedly drinking alcohol while driving, Callus said. The boy also did not have a driver’s license or vehicle insurance, Callus alleged. He was arrested and released to a relative.
There were no injuries as a result of the collision, but the vehicle was undriveable, Callus said.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of selling LSD after a sting operation involving Laguna Beach narcotics officers, Callus said.
Charles Logan Fiene, 19, and Graham Thomas Silvervalker, 22, were arrested at a location in the 600 block of North Coast Highway at 3:43 p.m. Oct. 14, according to police records. Both were held on $25,000 bond. A third suspect was released without charges.
DUI arrest leads to bribery accusation
An Illinois woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI and cocaine possession, and two companions also arrested in connection with the case at 12:16 a.m. Oct. 15 in the 30000 block of Coast Highway at Aliso Beach, Callus said.
Arresting officers alleged that the woman’s two companions attempted to interfere with the arrest. A Newport Beach man allegedly continued to yell out to the suspect despite being told not to; he was arrested on suspicion of interfering with a police investigation.
A Dana Point woman in the vehicle also was accused of attempting to interfere with officers. After her arrest, she was alleged to have drug paraphernalia in her possession, and was also arrested on suspicion of soliciting a bribe after she allegedly offered to have sex with an officer in return for her release, Callus said.
Hit-and-run vehicle sought
Police are looking for a light-colored Toyota sedan that allegedly sideswiped three vehicles on Holly Street around 8 p.m. Oct. 12, and then nearly struck a moving vehicle as it sped off at high speed. The Toyota is missing a hubcap and is believed to have been extensively damaged, according to a witness.
