Starting Friday, the night of the Anaheim Ducks’ home opener, Orange County Transportation Authority and Metrolink will offer special weeknight train service to and from the Honda Center.

The round-trip Ducks Express tickets will be offered at Orange County stations south of Anaheim for home games that start at 7:05 p.m. and 7:35 p.m.

A train will depart the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo station at 5:50 p.m. on those days.

“Hockey fans this season can enjoy an affordable round-trip train ride with all the benefits of hassle-free travel,” Patricia Bates, OCTA chairwoman and Fifth District supervisor, said in a statement. “Public transportation is a convenient way for our residents and visitors to get to games and we are excited to be able to offer this special train service.”

Tickets will start at $7 with lower fares for seniors ($6) and youth, ages 6-18 ($4).

There will be a free shuttle from the Anaheim Metrolink station to transport people back and forth from the Honda Center.

OCTA is currently offering a promotion if Metrolink tickets are purchased through them. With the purchase of two Ducks Express tickets, participants can receive a free Ducks game ticket. Tickets must be purchased through octa.net, the OCTA store or by calling (949) 560-5932.

The train is scheduled to arrive 30 minutes to an hour before the game starts and will leave about 30 minutes after the end of the game. The last train will leave the station at 10:09 p.m.
