Workers injured in collision

Two men installing fencing along Laguna Canyon Road were injured when a woman veered off the road and smashed into a utility pole in the 2000 block at 10:54 a.m. Aug. 26, Lt. Louise Callus said.

The force of the collision sheared off the pole. The workers and a person inside the vehicle were taken to Mission Hospital Mission Viejo for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A San Juan Capistrano man was arrested on suspicion of having seven pounds of marijuana in his vehicle after being stopped for expired tags in the 300 block of Park Avenue at 3:21 p.m. Aug. 27, Callus said.

The officer smelled marijuana and initiated a search of the vehicle, which led to the arrest of Alexander James Huston, 27.

Huston was booked and taken to the Orange County Jail, where he posted bond, according to jail records.

Driver held after passing out

A Long Beach man was released on his own recognizance after being arrested on suspicion of DUI and having prescription drugs with no prescription after passing out in his vehicle on South Coast Highway at Nyes Place at 11:21 a.m. Sunday, Callus said.

Jacob Bork, 22, was reported slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle by a concerned citizen who called 911, Callus said. Police responded as Bork allegedly was attempting to drive away. After observing his behavior, the officer searched the vehicle and allegedly found Vicodin, Xanax and cyclobenzaprine for which the suspect allegedly had no prescription, in addition to marijuana and an open container of alcohol. He was taken to Orange County Jail and released, according to jail records.
