LBUSD preps for first day of school
Laguna Beach Unified School District’s Facilities, Grounds and Construction Department started pre-first day procedures to make sure all four school sites are up to par when the school year starts.
LBUSD will conduct safety inspections, deep clean, do any necessary maintenance and repairs along with renovations or construction that needs to be done.
“In 2001, our community overwhelmingly passed General Obligation Bond Measure ‘R’ to refurbish our schools and grounds. The District, in turn, made a commitment to our community to maintain the refurbished facilities by implementing a twenty year Facility Repair and Replacement Program,” Norma Shelton, assistant superintendent of business services, said in a statement. “The current Board of Education included within their strategic goals ‘safe, attractive, clean and well-equipped learning environments will be provided for each student.’ The LBUSD staff is dedicated to achieving and maintaining that goal.”
