Students awarded for art at ceremony
The Festival of Arts and the PIMCO Foundation came together on the festival grounds for the Junior Art Award Ceremony on Aug. 14.
More than 300 Orange County students competed in the art competition, which judges in photography, three-dimensional work and two-dimensional work. Students from pre-K to 12th grade competed.
The winners received gold, silver and bronze medals from Mark Porterfield, executive director of the PIMCO Foundation, the charitable arm of Newport Beach-based PIMCO investment firm.
“The Junior Art exhibit has become not only a showcase for young Orange County student artists, but also a vivid testimonial to the value and importance of continuing arts education in our school systems,” Festival of Arts President Fred Sattler said in a statement.
