Boys & Girls Club fundraiser
Friday is the 11th Annual Bob Margolis Memorial Golf Tournament, which benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach TLC branch.
The tournament is in honor of Bob Margolis, who raised more than $10,000 for the Boys & Girls Club, according to a press release.
It will be held at the Bella Collina Towne & Golf Club in San Clemente.
An exciting element will be the helicopter golf ball drop, where golf balls are raffled off and the person who owns the one that lands closest to the hole wins a prize. This year’s prize is a night at the Montage Resort and a $300 dining gift certificate.
Tickets are $110 and include dinner and an awards ceremony.
The event starts at 11:30 a.m., and the raffle begins at 6 p.m.

Cub Scouts celebrate Flag Day
Laguna Beach Cub Scout Pack 35 celebrated Flag Day by retiring locals’ flags June 14 at Aliso Beach.
Clubmaster Tom Fay described the meaning of the flag to the Cub Scouts and what the stars, stripes and colors signify.
Each boy took a section of an American flag — a stripe or star — and placed it into a fire, according to a press release.
The weathered and worn flags were donated by local Laguna Beach business owners and residents.
