A Lancaster man was arrested Tuesday after homeowners on Rockledge Road reported a prowler.

Carl Dixon, 18, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, according to the Laguna Beach police dispatch log. He was detained at gunpoint around 9:30 a.m. inside a home.

At 9:06 a.m. a homeowner reported that a male subject was going door to door, looking into courtyards. The person said after eye contact was made with the man, he diverted and headed west.

At 9:23 a.m. another Rockledge homeowner reported that a man was in the interior atrium of their home. The atrium is in the interior of the house and would require climbing a wall.

When officers arrived, Dixon was on the home’s rear deck, looking over the ledge toward the beach, officials said.

Lt. Jason Kravetz said Dixon started to climb over the railing and officers believed he might jump, so they ran to detain him. It was later discovered that he was looking at a naked woman tanning on the beach.

He never entered the home and nothing was stolen from it.

After officers detained him, they found he had allegedly stolen some paperwork from a motorcycle parked in the garage of a Rockledge home. He was charged with one burglary count stemming from that alleged incident.

Dixon left a stand-up paddleboard at the home he reportedly burglarized, police said. They are currently trying to locate the owner of it.

He was held on $50,000 bail.
