An Indiana man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of a residential burglary at a Laguna Beach home.

Kyle Alan Veach, 22, was arrested by Laguna Beach police after he went to the Costa Mesa Police Department to retrieve property from an earlier arrest, according to a news release from LBPD.

Veach is suspected of entering a home in the 800 block of Hillcrest Drive around noon March 8.

The resident had been out running errands when he came home to find the suspect leaving his home. When he confronted Veach and asked what he was doing, Veach shrugged and ran off. After walking through his home, the victim learned it had been partially ransacked, according to the release.

Veach was then arrested by Costa Mesa police with two other men in a Costa Mesa motel March 13. He was found with personal checks belonging to the Laguna Beach victim, police said.

Veach was charged with possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and possession of fictitious documents, according to the release.

Laguna Beach detectives were able to connect Veach to the burglary while he was in jail for those charges.

Veach also was previously arrested for possession of stolen property on July 5. He stole an iPhone from an unlocked car and pleaded guilty to possession of stolen property, according to police. He was placed on five years’ probation.
