Razin honored as corporate director
Sheldon Razin, chairman of the board of Quality Systems Inc., which develops healthcare information systems, has been named a Director of the Year by the Forum for Corporate Directors (Orange County.) The honor was part of the 16th annual FCD Director of the Year Awards.
The Forum for Corporate Directors is a nonprofit organization seeking to increase the effectiveness of directors, CEOs and senior level executives, according to a news release.
Razin, a Laguna Beach resident, founded Quality Systems in 1973. The company provides electronic-based medical and dental software, including health records, practice management solutions and revenue cycle management applications.
“We are extremely proud of Shelly’s accomplishments over the past 38 years,” said Steven T. Plochocki, CEO of Quality Systems. “Back in the early 1970s, he had a vision for automating medical practices. This is an esteemed honor for both Shelly and the entire Quality Systems team.”
Razin was given the award at a banquet held at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. In 2010, Razin won an Innovator Award in the software category from TechAmerica. He was also Ernst & Young’s 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year, and received the Entrepreneur in Excellence Award from the Orange County Business Journal in 2009.

Film depicts 30-day diabetes reversal
Feel Well for Life, a detox and wellness center, will show the film “Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days” at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The film chronicles six diabetics who claim to have reversed their medical condition in five days by changing their diet to one consisting of vegan, raw food, according to Pam Sterling, a raw food coach who is co-sponsoring the showing.
