Rainfall should be fairly light
City Manager John Pietig checked with the Orange County Emergency Center on Thursday and was told that there were no changes in its forecast since Tuesday, when he informed the City Council that no flood warnings or watches were scheduled. The forecast for the weekend does not show more than 1 inch in a 24-hour period, relatively light rainfall compared to December’s deluge.
“However, as a precaution, we posted a message on OC Alert on Wednesday for canyon residents and downtown businesses,” Pietig said.
The alert is the reverse 911 system that warns of impending disasters.
“We also will have additional public works staff to deal with any issues that come up overnight,” Pietig said.
