Medical items reported stolen
Medical supplies valued at $1,700 were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of North Coast Highway, according to Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Louise Callus. The report was made at 8:26 p.m. Jan. 19.
The stolen items included bandages, a stethoscope, a blood pressure cuff and cash. The vehicle was most likely not locked when the theft took place, Callus said.

Man accused of check fraud
A Long Beach man was arrested after allegedly attempting to cash a forged check at a bank in the 200 block of Ocean Avenue at 4:13 p.m. Jan. 21, Callus said.
Kevin Leroy James, 21, was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary, attempting to pass a forged document and possession of a forged document.
A bank teller became suspicious and contacted the account owner, who told the bank the check was fraudulent.
James was held on $20,000 bail at Orange County Jail, according to jail records.

Man blames bouncer for head injury
A man who was injured while being escorted out of a Laguna Beach bar at 2:01 a.m. Saturday accused a bouncer of pushing him and causing him to fall and hit his head on a planter, Callus said. The victim needed seven stitches to close his head laceration.
The bouncer said he was moving the victim, who he claimed was not cooperating, out of the bar in the 1000 block of South Coast Highway, when he tripped and both fell down. Laguna Beach police are investigating the incident
