Concert planned to aid flood victims
“Here Comes The Sun!,” a concert to raise funds for Laguna Beach flood victims, will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Artist Theater, 625 Park Ave.
This concert and silent auction will feature Laguna musical legends Beth and Steve Wood, Jason Feddy, Nick “I” (from Common Sense) and Sasha Evans, accompanied by Douglas Miller, along with many others. A silent auction benefit will also be held.
Tickets are $20 for general seating, $50 for preferred seating, and $250 for the VIP “Flood Angel” Package, which includes admission to an artist reception from 3 to 4 p.m. with food provided by Mark’s restaurant.

Village Laguna sets flood aid potluck
Village Laguna will host a potluck dinner for the victims of the recent flood at its regular general membership meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship, 429 Cypress Drive, Laguna Beach. Participants are being asked to bring a homemade dish to share and either a gift card from a local supermarket, a check to the Laguna Relief and Resource Center (LRRC) or non-perishable food items.
Donna Valenti from the LRRC and Ann Quilter, volunteer coordinator of the relief effort, will present an update on how the flood relief is proceeding and what still needs to be done. To attend, contact Ginger Osborne, president of Village Laguna, at (949) 499-4809.

Council committee seats open
The Laguna Beach City Council is accepting applications for three two-year terms on the Recreation Committee and five two-year terms on the Parking, Traffic & Circulation Committee. Both terms will run through Feb. 29, 2013. Interviews will be conducted at 6 p.m. Feb. 15, by the City Council at their regular meeting in the City Council Chambers, 505 Forest Ave.
The Recreation Committee meets bi-monthly regarding providing for the recreation and park needs of the community. The Parking/Traffic/Circulation Committee acts in an advisory capacity on matters pertaining to parking, traffic, circulation, transit, the Parking Management Plan, and traffic complaints. Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month.
Interested residents should obtain an application from the City Clerk’s office or the city’s website and file by 5 p.m. Feb. 9. For more information, call (949) 497-0705.
