4 suspects arrested in Fashion Island robbery, 3 unaccounted for
Four suspects were arrested in Westminster on Wednesday after leading authorities on a pursuit following a robbery at the Fashion Island shopping mall in Newport Beach.
The four were identified by police as Dominic Deshaun Burrell, 20 of Lancaster; Brionnah Chanell Riley, 20 of Palmdale and two juveniles who were not identified because of their ages. Riley currently remains in custody on a bail of $100,000, according to jail records. Burrell was released Thursday afternoon after posting bail.
The robbery was reported just after 4 p.m. at the Neiman Marcus store at the mall after seven men entered it and stole unspecified items, according reports from the Newport Beach Police Department and KNBC.
The suspects fled in two vehicles, and one of which was pursued by Newport Beach Police Department and California Highway Patrol officers to the area of Bolsa Chica Road and the San Diego (405) Freeway.
Four suspects attempted to flee from the vehicle, but all were located and taken into custody by about 5:50 p.m.
Newport Beach Police Department spokesman Sgt. Joshua Vincelet said Thursday that about $58,000 in stolen merchandise was recovered.
