A Fountain Valley motorist was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of a fatal hit-and-run with a bicyclist near Mile Square Regional Park, authorities said.

Fountain Valley police arrested Amanda Martin, 33, for two felonies of a DUI and hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, according to a news release.

The fatal collision occurred early Saturday morning on the southbound lanes of Euclid Street, just north of Heil Avenue. Police arrived to the area at 5:39 a.m. and found 71-year-old Liem Bui of Santa Ana on Euclid.

Bui had traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead by paramedics, police said.

Martin fled the scene, but police said traffic investigators identified and found Martin in the driver’s seat in nearby Westminster.

Martin posted bond and was released Sunday from Orange County’s Central Jail Complex, jail records show.

Witnesses are encouraged to contact the FVPD Traffic Bureau at (714) 593-4481.
