Huntington Beach man charged on suspicion of repeated sexual assault of minor

A Huntington Beach man was charged Wednesday with the repeated sexual assault of a minor since she was under 10 years old.

Orlando Maldonadohuerta, 27, is charged with 10 counts of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 or less years of age; one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 years of age or seven years younger than the defendant; one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child; and five counts of lewd or lascivious act with minor under 14 years of age, according to court records.

He had not yet entered a plea as of Thursday afternoon.

Huntington Beach police said that Maldonadohuerta was arrested on July 2 and was booked in Huntington Beach Police Department jail at around 5:45 p.m. after the victim reported Maldonadohuerta.

The investigation is ongoing and police did not provide any further identifying details on the victim, but did confirm that the victim is now a teenager. Court records further indicate that the assaults occurred in or around 2015 and 2019.

Maldonadohuerta was arraigned at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana and is expected to appear in court on July 23. Maldonadohuerta remains in custody on a bail of $1 million.
