Coronavirus pandemic closes Newport Beach City Hall, again

Newport Beach will shut down its City Hall to the public for the second time in four months as COVID-19 cases pick up throughout the state and region.

City Hall will close to in-person services starting Monday. City services will be available through phone, email and pickup/drop-off, including permit applications, plan checks, payments and library services.

Participation in City Council and Planning Commission meetings can be done through live web stream and phone. The police department has also closed its front counter and will continue to work with the public through phone and email.

Newport previously closed its City Hall from mid-March to late May.

The current closures will be in place until further notice. See newportbeachca.gov for more information.

Costa Mesa’s City Hall, which has also been closed since March, remains closed.

Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley city halls, which had previously closed and reopened, remained open to the public as of Friday.
