Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach was supplied with 5,000 needed N95 respirator masks Friday.

The disposable masks are among medical staples in short supply as front-line doctors respond to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

But Trevor Theriot had access to thousands through Las Vegas-based medical device company ManaMed, of which he is president and chief executive, and he made the donation Friday. He reached out to the office of state Sen. John Moorlach (R-Costa Mesa) to help distribute them.
