A green oasis bloomed Friday at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa for the beginning of the 43rd annual Orange County Home & Garden Show.

In addition to a showing of live plants, the show features home improvement designs and do-it-yourself workshops by local experts. Landscapers mingle with window companies and cabinet shops selling their wares and showing off their goods.

The Home & Garden Show is open again from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Los Alamitos building at the fairgrounds, 88 Fair Drive.

Admission is free. Parking is $10.
