Man charged with attempted murder in Huntington Beach fight

A 26-year-old man is charged with attempted murder in connection with a fight that occurred Tuesday afternoon at Pacific Coast Highway and Ninth Street in Huntington Beach, according to police.

A 26-year-old man was charged Thursday with attempted murder in connection with a fight in Huntington Beach that left another man unconscious.

Brandon Lee Green was charged with attempted murder with sentencing enhancement allegations of attempted premeditated murder and inflicting great bodily injury. He also was charged with a count of felony assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, with a sentencing enhancement allegation of inflicting great bodily injury.

Green additionally was charged with a misdemeanor count of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury.

Green was involved in an argument with a man he knew that escalated into a fight at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pacific Coast Highway and Ninth Street, according to Huntington Beach police Officer Angela Bennett.

The other man fell and was knocked unconscious, Bennett said. The man was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Bennett said.

Green’s scheduled arraignment Thursday was rescheduled to March 13 in the Orange County Jail courtroom in Santa Ana. His bail was set at $1 million, according to jail records.
