The Orange County registrar of voters office is seeking applicants to staff its vote centers during upcoming elections.

According to a job description, “Vote center voting will replace traditional polling place voting, offering many enhanced services to voters for up to 11 days throughout the county instead of just a single election day.”

“We are looking for dynamic, customer service-oriented individuals to work at these vote centers and assist Orange County voters in experiencing the convenience of vote center voting,” the description says.

Assemblywoman to present holiday party

Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Laguna Beach) is inviting her constituents to a holiday party at her district office in Irvine.

The Dec. 4 shindig will run from 4 to 6 p.m. at 19712 MacArthur Blvd., Suite 150. Guests will have a chance to meet the legislator’s team and discuss community issues and ideas for future bills.

The office also is partnering with the California Highway Patrol for a children’s gift drive, and guests can bring unwrapped toys to contribute to the cause.

Petrie-Norris represents the 74th Assembly District, which includes Costa Mesa, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, part of Huntington Beach and most of Irvine.

Petrie-Norris to speak in Newport Beach

The next Wake Up Newport session will feature a legislative update from Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Laguna Beach).

The Dec. 5 event will run from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. in the Friends Room of the Newport Beach Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave.

Admission is free, and the gathering will include a complimentary continental breakfast. Guests are asked to register ahead of time at bit.ly/2shUIYt.
