Former UCI Alumni Assn. board member sentenced to 170 years to life for child molestation
A former member of the UC Irvine Alumni Assn. board of directors was sentenced Friday to 170 years to life in prison for molesting three young girls, the Orange County district attorney’s office said.
Glen Thomas Kauffman, 55, a Laguna Niguel girls softball parent volunteer, was convicted Oct. 15 of six felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under age 14 and three felony counts of sexual penetration of a minor 10 or younger.
The molestation occurred at Kauffman’s home in Laguna Niguel between August 2014 and August 2017, prosecutors said.
“This predator used his position of trust to prey on these very young and vulnerable children,” District Attorney Todd Spitzer said in a statement.
