Man dies after being struck by car near Newport Center

Authorities said the collision happened Saturday evening at MacArthur Boulevard and San Miguel Drive.

An 87-year-old Newport Beach man died after being struck by a car Saturday evening near Newport Center, according to authorities.

George Stryker was walking at MacArthur Boulevard and San Miguel Drive at about 6:15 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle, according to the Orange County coroner’s office. He died at the scene.

A Newport Beach Police Department spokeswoman said no arrests were made.
