A 29-year-old man charged in the shooting of another man in Huntington Beach is expected to face a murder charge following the victim’s death over the weekend.

Dennis Tri Gia Dang of Westminster pleaded not guilty last week to an attempted-murder charge in the shooting of Linh Ho, 48, of Fountain Valley at about 12:15 p.m. Oct. 20 at Magnolia Street and Warner Avenue.

Ho was comatose after the shooting and died Saturday night, authorities said.

Police have not discussed a possible motive in the shooting.

Dang is due back in court in Westminster for a pretrial hearing Wednesday, when the count is expected to be modified to murder.
