Senior Notes: Computer classes offered at center

Basic Computer Assistance taught by Marianna Spoelder will be offered from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays through June at the Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St.

The course will provide basic computer assistance for individuals who just need a few questions answered or want to learn how to use a PC with a Microsoft XP Operating System and be introduced to the basics of word processing, e-mail, digital photo (including Picasa software and downloading to a flashdrive), and the Internet. Cost is $10 per session.

Taking charge of breast health

Mission Hospital is sponsoring a free seminar, Positively Pink! Take Charge of Your Breast Health from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Susi Q Senior Center.

The seminar will provide women with information pertaining to health choices which can reduce the risk of breast cancer.

The course includes information about new screening guidelines issued by the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force, and the importance of mammograms and breast self exams.

In addition, participants will be shown a short video followed by a question and answer period.

Estate planning series continues

A free lecture series by local attorney R. Lee Andersen will provide a brief summary of what is involved in estate planning for individuals with modest estates.

The series is called “Estate Planning 101: Everything you wanted to know about estate planning but were afraid to ask.” The series takes place from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Susi Q. For more information, call (949) 497-2441.
