Police join community leaders in basketball tournament
Officers from the Costa Mesa Police Department will play in a basketball tournament with church leaders and community members this weekend, police said.
This will be the eighth year the department has taken part in the C3 basketball tournament and community fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Recreation Center, 1860 Anaheim Ave., according to a information from police.
The name of the event reflects the make-up of three-person teams consisting of one cop, one community member and one church leader.
A game truck, face painting, a bounce house and food for purchase will be available.
