Pamela Lee Lauer, 54, died March 23, 2011, at home surrounded by family and friends. Born in Riverside, California to John and Juanita Lauer on January 5, 1957, Pam was raised in Glendale, California. She graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in La Crescenta in 1975 where she lettered in badminton, belonged to the Spanish Club and participated in Job’s daughters. Pam attended Glendale College, OCC, BYU, and graduated from CSULB in English Literature. The majority of Pam’s career was spent working for the Irvine Company. She lived on Balboa Island for 32 years and made many friends there. She particularly enjoyed Disneyland, walking, water activities, biking, and roller skating. Her frank approach to life was endearing, and she had a wonderful sense of humor. Pam had a rare ability to make and keep lifelong friends. She enjoyed her travels to Hawaii, New York City, and Europe, and attending tennis and golf tournaments. She loved Broadway shows and was a “movie buff”. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sister Amy (Peter) Powell; nieces and nephews Ben (Emily), Casey (Cristyn), Jenny and Katie Powell. Services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Newport Beach, California, and she was buried at Pacific View Cemetery in Corona del Mar, California.
