Pet of the Week

Sonny’s upbeat personality means he is happy on walks and pleased to give and receive affection. This 8-year-old border collie mix was recently surrendered when a move precluded his owner from keeping her pet.

True to his breed, known for high intelligence and energy, this is a dog who thrives on both physical and mental activity. Border collies also can be territorial, which means Sonny may do best in a household that has no other animals or is at least sensitive to this dynamic.

His former owner reported that Sonny does fine with children and being left alone. He received obedience training as a puppy, and shelter volunteers confirm he responds positively to his name and basic commands.

Sonny is a healthy 60 pounds and house-trained, and he will be neutered upon adoption. His fees are discounted 25% all week with mention of this announcement. For more information, call (714) 536-8480 or ochumanesociety.com.
