Pet of the Week: Sloan

With memories of Mother’s Day still fresh, this week’s featured pet is a natural for adoption consideration.

Sloan arrived at the shelter in late December as a stray. Soon it was discovered that she was pregnant, and in March she whelped a litter of puppies. Having nurtured her eight pups until all could be adopted, Sloan is now ready to find her own new home.

She is healthy, spayed and working to regain her pre-pregnancy figure. This pit-bull-terrier mix, estimated to be 4 years old, weighs 55 pounds and is obviously house-trained.

Sloan appears calm and happy, always behaving well around other dogs and walking easily on a leash. She does not pull or bark, preferring instead to stay by a volunteer’s side and occasionally offer gentle licks.

As with all so-called bully breeds, Sloan’s adoption fees are discounted 50%. For more information, call (714) 536-8480 or visit https://www.ochumanesociety.com.
