When the household’s newborn was found to be allergic to cats, Little Dude and his companion Sphinx — who has since been adopted — were surrendered by their owner in September.

Little Dude has since distinguished himself at the shelter as sweet and friendly. This domestic shorthair orange tabby is 7 1/2 years old and has lots of spring in his step. His former owner fondly described him as “loving, caring, wise and playful.”

Little Dude is not exactly little, weighing a healthy 12 pounds. Much of that weight is a luxuriant soft coat, which he enjoys having stroked. Likewise, he demonstrated great patience in posing for his photo. Already neutered, Little Dude is ready to find a cozy home — or ranch — of his own again.
