Family New Year’s Eve at OC Great Park
The Orange County Great Park will stage its inaugural Family New Year’s Eve celebration from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. As 9 p.m. approaches, there will be a countdown coinciding with the clock striking midnight on the East Coast. The Great Park balloon will descend as the ball in New York’s Times Square drops. Admission is free, but there is a $10 parking fee. For more information, go to https://www.ocgp.org.
New Year’s Eve at SOL Cocina
SOL Cocina will add twists to their traditional Baja cuisine for New Year’s Eve. Other New Year’s Eve activities will include a live deejay from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., a champagne toast at midnight, raffle prizes and a contest for the best New Year’s hat, which wins dinner for two at SOL. The restaurant, at 251 E. Coast Hwy., Newport Beach, will also provide free rides home, though some restrictions apply. Tour d’Orange
Classic and vintage car lovers will stage the ninth annual Tour d’Orange, a two-hour cruise of Orange County’s best two-lane roads. The event leaves from the corner of Red Hill and Fischer avenues in Costa Mesa and ends at the In-N-Out Burger at The District in Tustin. Arrive by 8 a.m. Maps will be given out to drivers at 8:45 a.m. with a scheduled 9 a.m. departure.
