Women’s retreat weekend for empowerment

A retreat weekend for women will take place Oct. 22 and 23 at Neighborhood Congregational Church, 340 St. Ann’s Drive, Laguna Beach.

Joy Ministry, with Anna Krajec and Donna LeClair, will host the “Sister Giant” weekend, modeled on the event created by Marianne Williamson focusing on history. The event will include a showing of a documentary about the medieval burning of the witches, “The Burning Times,” the fight for women’s suffrage and the more recent efforts of the women of Liberia to find peace.
