All Blue Art Benefit

Join Pacific Marine Mammal Center and The Art Cube Gallery for the “All Blue” event from 6 t o 9 p.m., where all art pieces showcased will have a “blue theme,” in support of the ocean and the center, with 20% of all art sales to benefit marine mammal patients.

Laguna Beach Seniors and the Laguna Beach Community Foundation offer a free workshop, “Fundraising in the New Economy – How is it done?” from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4. in the Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St. Laguna Beach.

This workshop will address the following fundraising techniques: Major Gifts, Planned Gifts, The Important Role of the Board, and Raffles.

Real Laguna History

Briggs Christian (“Corky”) Morris-Smith will speak on the topic “The Historic Past of the REAL Laguna Beach” at the Laguna Canyon Conservancy dinner, at 6 p.m. at Tivoli Terrace, 650 Laguna Canyon Road. Dinner tickets are $10 for members and $15 for non-members and may be paid at the door with prior reservations.

The program will be preceded by a short business meeting to elect the Board of Directors.

Marine Life Protection Film

Transition Consciousness and the Transition Laguna Water Group present “A Sheltered Sea—Southern Passage,” a documentary about the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) Initiative along the California coast. The film highlights the activities taking place in the South Coast Region from Point Conception to Mexico.

Screening and discussion from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday Oct. 4 at the Laguna Beach Woman’s Club, 386 St Anne’s Drive. A $10 donation is requested.
