The Orange County Museum of Art’s Museum Council will host its 12th Annual Art & Architecture Tour this weekend, with five Newport Beach homes sharing their private art collections.

The tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, with a wrap-up party from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the museum. Proceeds will go toward education programs.

Lynn Brown, president of the museum council, said the event typically brings in more than $20,000, which helps to introduce local children to the arts.

“We provide buses to all the elementary schools in Orange County,” she said. “We bring the students to the museum, and they have hands-on projects with artists and also see our exhibit.”

The self-guided tour covers two homes on Newport Coast, one in Corona del Mar and two on Lido Isle.

In addition, the $75 admission covers admission to an ocean-view building at Coastline Community College, which will feature an artist in the current 2013 California-Pacific Triennial show.
