Hyatt concert series to start
A cool breeze of jazz will fill the air at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach as best-selling musicians take the stage during the annual Summer Concert Series.
The four-month festival that kicks off Friday will showcase a range of genres, including contemporary, acoustic and vocals, with performances by saxophonist Kenny G, “American Idol” winner Ruben Studdard, Grammy Award-winning artist Esperanza Spalding and renowned guitarist and singer Boz Scaggs, among many others.
Concertgoers will hear shows at the Hyatt’s Back Bay Amphitheater and may select drinks, appetizers and dinner from the hotel’s lounge and restaurant.
The series will open with Bobby Caldwell and Morgan James and close Oct. 9, with trumpeter and composer Chris Botti.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. Fridays and show times will vary.
Tickets range from $50 to $110 and season passes can be purchased for $1,765, which includes VIP seating, valet parking and access to the VIP Hospitality Suite.
