The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck rolled into Irvine Spectrum Center Saturday to offer treats and confections to hundreds of shoppers.

The mobile truck, which sells mini cakes, macarons, doughnuts and hot chocolate, made its debut at Hello Kitty Con in 2014 in honor of Sanrio’s 40th anniversary.

“Everyone loves Hello Kitty, and we’re excited to bring back such an iconic character and event for fans of all ages,” Easther Liu, chief marketing officer for Irvine Company Retail Properties, said in a statement.

Hello Kitty Cafe is slated to open later in the year in a Southern California location that has yet to be determined. The eatery will feature displays of pastries, merchandise and interactive attractions such as Sanrio characters making appearances at the cafe.
