John Wayne Airport is seeking proposals for art exhibits in its Community Focus Space Program, airport spokeswoman Jenny Wedge announced Wednesday.

The exhibits, which run for about one month each, are on display before the airport’s security checkpoints and by baggage carousels in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal. The airport is now taking submissions for fall 2016 and later.

“With more than 9 million travelers each year, John Wayne Airport provides a venue unlike any other to feature local Orange County artists and showcase their talents to visitors and residents alike,” Board of Supervisors Chairman Todd Spitzer said in a release from the airport.

Submissions are due at 4 p.m. June 17, with guidelines available on the airport’s website. Artists must have been born, raised or educated in Orange County or currently live, work or own property there, according to the release.
