Ginger named Segerstrom board chairman
John L. Ginger has been elected chairman of the board of directors of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, the venue announced Monday.
Ginger is a longtime supporter of the center and a member of its board since 2010, serving as vice chairman of education. He is the owner of J. Ginger Masonry, Inc. of Riverside. Ginger succeeds Lawrence M. Higby and will serve a three-year term.
“With John’s passion for the arts and commitment to community, I cannot imagine anyone better suited than he to be leading our board during such a dynamic and exciting time for Segerstrom Center,” said center president Terrence Dwyer in a release.
In July, Ginger co-chaired the center’s first “Arts and Business Leadership Awards” dinner to recognize Orange County business leaders for their support of the arts.
“I couldn’t be more excited by the prospect of building on the excellence of the center’s many great accomplishments,” Ginger said in a statement. “I am honored to serve as chairman of this outstanding organization, and will do so with equal parts gratitude, dedication and passion.”
