Future of Community Banks

Canstruction Orange County

Check out the 15 structures made out of canned foods that will be displayed throughout South Coast Plaza during Festival of Children, all of which will later be donated to the Orange County Food Bank.

Festival of Children

The 10th annual Festival of Children — a month-long family oriented event featuring live music, dance performances, arts and crafts, and more — returns to South Coast Plaza. OCC Transfer Day

Orange Coast College Transfer Day is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the campus quad, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. Representatives from as many as 66 colleges and universities will be on hand at the free event, which will be open to the public.

Museum Excursion

Newport Beach Arts Commission is organizing a daylong trip to the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. The chartered bus leaves at 9:30 a.m. from the parking lot at the Newport Beach Central Library branch, 1000 Avocado Ave., and returns around 4 p.m. Tickets cost $75 and include bus ride, lunch and private tour of the Norton Simon. It is necessary to pre-register for this event under “Museum Tours” at https://www.newportbeachca.gov.

Costa Mesa GOP

Police Chief Tom Gazsi will be on hand to meet community members at a meeting of the Costa Mesa Republican Assembly. The event is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Dakota Room of the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Ave. Tickets cost $5 but admission for first-time visitors is free.
