Launching the Whale

At 10:30 a.m., U.S. Marines will assist 26 developmentally disabled children from the Speech and Language Development Center launch a 20-foot whale into the bay from Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort, 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach.

Food for Thought Film Series

Orange County Great Park presents an outdoor screening of “Urban Roots,” the final film in its Food for Thought series. The film will be shown on an outdoor screen near the Farm and Food Lab, where gourmet food trucks will be stationed. The venue opens at 6:30 p.m. and the screening is at dusk.
