On the Scene

Cast members will attend the Australian Spotlight screening of “Drift.” 7:30 p.m.; Lido Theatre.

A free test screening will be held for “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman,” a drama directed by Fredrik Bond and starring Shia LaBeouf and Evan Rachel Wood. Tickets are required and seating is limited. 7:30 p.m.; Port Theater.

Pacific Rim Showcase Party

The Pacific Rim Showcase party takes place from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. outside Z Gallerie at Fashion Island, 343 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach. Guests will be treated to entertainment and hors d’oeuvres prepared by award-winning Newport Beach restaurants. Hosted bar by Stella Artois and Absolut.

Tickets are $40 for the party and any Pacific Rim Showcase film, $30 for the party only and $18 for a film only. Ages 21 and over only; cocktail attire with a coat or jacket is recommended, as the event is outdoors. For tickets, visit https://www.newportbeachfilmfest.com.
