MONDAY: Everyone is invited to celebrate the end of summer with the traditional Labor Day Pancake Breakfast, shown, sponsored by the Laguna Beach Exchange Club. City firefighters and police will be flipping flapjacks from 7 to 10:30 a.m. at Cliff Drive and Myrtle Street. $5 buys a great breakfast with all the trimmings. Proceeds benefit child abuse programs.

‘Ethel Merman’s Broadway’

In “Ethel Merman’s Broadway,” Rita McKenzie recreates her uncanny, award-winning portrayal of Ethel Merman, the Queen of the Broadway Musical, at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road. Beach Cleanup

HelpBlueWater.com volunteers meet at noon on Sunday at Mozambique’s lower parking lot for a weekly beautification effort. Free parking available.
