Pacific Marina Mammal Center and the Villa at Pacific Edge Hotel host a family beach day from 1 to 4 p.m. at 647 S. Coast Hwy. The day includes a barbecue, live music, volleyball and a sand castle building contest. Lounge chairs, towels and umbrellas and beach toys are complimentary. ‘Dog’ Novelist Appearance
