Depression in women

The Susi Q has received a small grant to provide senior women with free counseling for depression by a skilled therapist either in their own homes or at the Susi Q, 380 Third St., Laguna Beach. For more information, contact Kathleen “Kay” Wenger at the Susi Q, (949) 497-2441.

Computer classes on tap

Beginning in April, the Susi Q will begin six new computer classes, one a week for eight weeks. Monday’s class is an introduction to Macintosh personal computers and the basics of e-mail. Tuesday’s class is an introduction to Windows personal computers and an Internet basics class. Thursday’s classes include Getting Started with Facebook and Fun with Photos. Tax preparation help

IRS trained volunteers are available from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays to provide free basic tax assistance to those with middle to low income and with simple tax returns. Tax-aide volunteers are trained to assist with filing the 1040 form and the more standard schedules including A and B. For an appointment, call (949) 497-2441.

Beginning Bridge lessons offered

Ann Cressman, instructor and Silver Life Master, will teach beginning bridge starting April 29, for eight consecutive weeks at a cost of $100. Each session will start with a lesson on basic bidding techniques and responses. For more information, call (949) 497-2441.

Supervised Bridge play lessons

An eight-week class in supervised Bridge play will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. starting May 2 is designed for players who want to brush up on their skills. The class will include discussion of hands and scoring. Registration and pre-payment are required. The cost is $100. For more information, call (949) 497-2441.

Free estate planning advice

Attorney R. Lee Andersen is available once a month to assist individuals with questions pertaining to elder law, estate administration, estate planning, Medi-Cal and conservatorships. Call (949) 494-2441 to make an appointment.

Computer assistance available

Marianna Spoelder is available on a drop-in basis at the Susi Q from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays to help with computer questions, including e-mail, the Internet, word processing, digital photos or how to use various functions of the keyboard. Bring in your laptop. Wi-Fi is also available. The cost for a two-hour session is $10, or $20 for three sessions.
